Growing Gardens for Growing Minds is a community-centered gardening initiative focused encouraging healthy habits, and expanding access to fresh produce through hands-on growing experiences.
Growing Gardens for Growing Minds empowers students, families, and communities to build food literacy and healthy eating habits through hands-on gardening. Gardens act as living classrooms where all ages learn about fruits and vegetables, how they support long-term health, and practical ways to make nutritious choices.

Families in Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, New Jersey, Missouri, California, and Iowa have received a GG4GM kit.

Families in Kalamazoo, Monroe, Barry, Calhoun, Oceana, Muskegon, Ingham, Ottawa, Kent, Van Buren, Allegan, Berrian, Cass, Genesee, Luce, St. Joseph, Branch, and Mackinac Counties have received a GG4GM kit.

More than 1,500 kits have been distributed to individuals, families, and students across the country. Because each kit can grow enough produce to feed an entire family, the total number of people impacted is far greater.

Through fundraising, community kit sponsorships, donations, and school community grants, GG4GM has been able to raise over $5,000 since 2021.
